About Us

Tororo Girls’ School is an all round Girls’ Secondary, Boarding, and Government aided school.

It was founded by the U S American Government in 1965 as a gift aimed at promoting the education of girls in Uganda.

This was as a result of cold war between Russian and American after the Russian had constructed Busitema Agricultural College and the Americans built Tororo Girls’ School and the handed over to the government of Uganda in Tororo district.

The school is located in the Eastern Ugandan town of Tororo, approximately 230 kilometres (140 miles), by road, east of Kampala, the Capital city of Uganda. It lies approximately 2 kilometres south of the central business district of Tororo town, along the Tororo-Malaba Road.
